Poetry 4 u is a project that pins poems to place.
Poems are of mobile phone length, traditionally being 140 characters including spaces.
By pinning community-generated poetry to site-specific spaces on google maps allows a layer of narrative to alter the reader’s perception of their immediate surroundings when they view these site-specific poems through their mobile phone.
Poetry 4 U is a collaboration between Melbourne-based practitioners Omega Goodwin, Marsha Berry and Francesca Rendle-Short.
Previous Poetry 4 U submissions were published in an anthology. You can purchase the book for $10 +postage.
Nice work, I like your project. I’m a little disappointed in that I thought you meant virtual maps. Since you are on linkedin maybe we could do one on an international basis. If you needed an extra hand for this I’m sure there would be enough of us to help out.
Thanks for your comments Drake. We are planning on putting these poems in an augmented reality space but are initially seeking poems. One step at a time! : )
